Affiniq ("we", "us", "our") operates tickbit (https://tickbit.in), a cloud-based time tracking and invoicing platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal data when you use our service, in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian laws.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, organization name, and password (stored in hashed form). We never store passwords in plain text.

Usage Data: Time entries, project details, customer information, invoices, and other data you create within the platform to use our services.

Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and access timestamps collected automatically when you use our service. We use this to maintain security, diagnose issues, and improve the platform.

Payment Data: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your credit card, debit card, or UPI details on our servers. We only store transaction references, subscription IDs, and payment status for record-keeping.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to provide and maintain the tickbit service, including time tracking, team management, invoicing, and reporting. To send transactional emails such as email verification, password resets, team invitations, and invoices. To process subscription payments and manage your account. To enforce our Terms of Service and protect against misuse. To improve our platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard protections including encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL, hashed password storage using bcrypt, role-based access controls within the application, API rate limiting to prevent abuse, and security headers via Helmet.js.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4. Data Sharing

Payment Processor: Razorpay processes your payments. Their handling of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Email Delivery: We use SMTP services to send transactional emails. Only your email address and the email content are shared with the email service.

Legal Compliance: We may disclose your data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

We do not share your time tracking data, project details, customer information, or invoice data with any third party.

5. Your Rights (Under DPDP Act, 2023)

Right to Access: You can export all your data at any time from within the application. Right to Correction: You can update your personal information through the Settings page. Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. All data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for non-essential data processing by contacting us. Right to Grievance Redressal: Contact us at the address below, or file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

6. Cookies

tickbit uses only essential local storage for authentication (storing your session token). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. We do not use any third-party tracking scripts.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Payment transaction records may be retained for up to 8 years as required by Indian tax and accounting regulations.

8. Children

tickbit is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
